BEAVER Twp., Ohio (WKBN) — A Beaver Township cop was bitten while arresting a suspect on a warrant stemming from a dispute between neighbors on July 7, according to a police report.

William Armstrong, 56, called police regarding his neighbor attempting to hit him while on a lawn mower on July 7.

When police arrived, they observed tire marks from Armstrong’s trailer to his neighbors and that Armstrong’s truck was parked in front of his neighbor’s exit.

Police spoke with the neighbor, who was holding a towel to their face, claiming that Armstrong sprayed them with mace. The pepper spray was found in Armstrong’s vehicle.

Police returned last Wednesday to arrest Armstrong on charges related to the incident. When police informed Armstrong that he was under arrest for assault, he started shouting and resisted arrest, according to a police report.

The report further states that Armstrong lunged at police, attempted to grab one of the officer’s duty belts, and bit a cop’s left arm. The officer was treated at a local hospital for their injuries.

Armstrong is charged with resisting arrest, felonious assault, intimidating, assault on a police officer, obstructing official business and assault.
