YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Reports said police early Sunday found $5,000 in cash and felony-level-two cocaine on a man who was loitering in the parking lot of an East Side gas station.

Byron Johnson, 30, is expected to be arraigned Monday in municipal court on a charge of possession of cocaine. He is presently in the Mahoning County jail.

Reports said Johnson was arrested about 12:35 a.m. Sunday when police drove by a gas station at McGuffey Road and Albert Street where a man was shot Thursday and where drug sales are not uncommon.

Police pulled into the gas station because there were three cars parked there under signs that said no loitering. Johnson was in one of those cars, reports said.

Reports said when Johnson was searched, police found a bag of crack cocaine in his waistline as well as the cash.

The other people who were there were given warnings to not hang around at the gas station or they could be cited for criminal trespassing.
