AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A medical marijuana dispensary in Youngstown announced Thursday the company will also be operating a new marijuana dispensary for recreational purposes in Austintown.

Leaf Relief owner Terrell Washington says the approval came from Ohio’s Division of Cannabis Control. He could not say exactly where the dispensary will go but it will be near the intersection of Interstate 80 and Route 46.

Leaf Relief has a medical marijuana dispensary on Market Street in Youngstown and has already been granted a dual license to sell marijuana for recreational purposes out of the Market Street location, as well.

Washington hopes to have the Austintown location up and running sometime in early 2025. He said he’s glad to be part of the Austintown Community.

Austintown Trustee Rob Santos called the announcement good news saying the people of Austintown voted for it and the tax money expected will help the township in a multitude of ways.
