YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Youngstown’s annual Summer Festival of the Arts kicked off at Wean Park on Saturday.

Hosted by The Cultural Alliance, this year’s event celebrates creativity and culture. Attendees can see plenty of creativity on display through art and crafts, jewelry, painting and live performances.

“Gets me out of the house, and I enjoy the opportunity to come down here talking with all the people who come around to see my stuff,” said Buddy Lashley, owner of Buddy’s Wood Crafts.

It’s the festival’s 26th year of bringing the Mahoning Valley together to celebrate and recognize local talent.

“It’s just a great way to bring the community together and see everyone’s great artwork that they have,” said Jordan Vannoy, a volunteer coordinator for the event.

Sunday is the last day of the festival.
