YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A week of learning about the arts started Monday in Youngstown.

The fourth YourArts Summer Camp at Stambaugh Auditorium welcomed 32 children this year. Teachers from Hart’s Performing Arts School are directing the camp. Shiloh Hart is directing the teaching.

The children learn about crafts, dance, stage performance, costuming and much more. At the same time, they’re also rehearsing. On Friday, the children will star in a public performance showing what they’ve learned.

It’s a week of being immersed in the arts to gain a greater appreciation for them.

“It’s extremely important because it opens the opportunity to kids who may not know about Shiloh’s school, or who don’t know about Stambaugh Auditorium. It opens arts up to some kids who might not have done it before,” said Kelly Sullivan, artistic services manager.

Friday’s performance is at 2 p.m. at Stambaugh Auditorium.
