YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Youngstown’s First Fridays continued downtown Friday night.

The free family-fun event is held at the start of each month and hosted by Downtown Youngstown Partnership, Youngstown CityScape and the City of Youngstown.

This month’s First Friday featured vendors along Phelp Street with food, drinks and live music by the Conkle Brothers. There was also line dancing at Octave Live Music and Penguin City Brewing Company.

Anyone who missed August’s event can attend the next First Friday on Sept. 6.

“It’s back-to-school themed. We’re going to have chalk on the walk. There’s going to be a couple bands for that. Federal Street should be much more passable, and we expect it should be closer to fully reopening downtown. We’re really trying to get some more vendors and organizations to fill up Phelps,” said Adam Lee with Youngstown CityScape.

Those interested in participating can apply at firstfridaysyoungstown.org .

There will also be a Party on the Lawn at the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre that night featuring a tribute to Elton John and Billy Joel.
