Puppy rescued during Madera County wildfire evacuation

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A puppy was rescued while deputies were performing evacuation notices in Madera County due to a wildfire on Friday.

On Friday afternoon, the Madera County Office of Emergency Services issued a mandatory evacuation order for the residents in the area of Avenue 22nd 3/4 in Madera County due to wildfire.

Deputies say while performing evacuation notices during the fire, Deputy Ryan Hall was able to save a puppy from harm’s way.

“We are always committed to protecting and serving, even our furry friends,” deputies said in a social media post.

Evacuation orders were lifted on Friday around 5:10 p.m. according to deputies, and roadways were reopened, but they still ask residents to continue to use caution due to fire equipment in the area.
