FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE ) – Even though she may not be permanent, Fresno Unified School District Interim Superintended Misty Her has been thinking about her 100-day plan since day one.

“It actually started the day after I got appointed. And right after I started meeting with people,” Her said.

Listening and learning from students, staff, and parents was phase one of Her’s plan. The second phase was looking at district data to understand what it says about where the district stands on several metrics. The third phase is the implementation of two specific goals.

“We had a lot of goals, too ok what are the two most important priorities for the following year so that anyone can come into this role and take off and continue,” Her said.

Her’s two main goals are to improve student outcomes and achieve operational excellence, which includes thinking about customer service.

“How do our departments work in service of our school sites and how do our school sites work in service of our families,” Her said.

As a product of Fresno Unified, Her is proud of the district’s accomplishments and not shy about pointing out what needs to change.

“We have really good plans that we put in place but we’re not good at execution,” Her said.

That is why she’s narrowing the district’s focus to just two main goals so that anyone can step in and take over if the time comes. After Labor Day, The FUSD Board of Trustees will continue its search for a permanent superintendent.

“Whatever happens in this role I just want it to be a win for kids,” Her said.

tell fresno unified to pay their bills. the have a third party who was hired to pay the sports officials. it's been months, and a married couple who just wanted to make extra money hasn't been paid yet. it's close to 5K all because fresno unified hired a 3rd party to pay. so the next time u go to a middle school or high school sporting event and u have no officials, THIS IS WHY, NO ONE WANTS TO PAY
