FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Fresno State mechanical engineering students will now be able to earn their credentials for free thanks to a collaboration between Fresno State and Net Positive Consulting Engineers (NPC).

NPC says the 5-year program is designed to enable mechanical engineering students to earn California’s Engineer-in-Training (EIT) credentials regardless of their monetary background.

The consulting group says they are fully funding the program to allow students to focus on their studies and career without the burden of additional financial stress.

“The success of Fresno State engineering students is key to boosting the Central Valley’s growth and economy,” said Jonathan Schlundt, Owner and Principal Engineer at NPC. “But what’s even more exciting is their potential to make a big splash on the national and global stage.”

The program for the Lyles College of Engineering students launches Sept. 14.
