FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Tagua Fair Trade is hosting a “Shop for a Purpose” event on Thursday at River Park.

According to Tagua, a portion of all purchases will go toward a different non-profit organization at each event. Proceeds from this “Shop for a Purpose” will be donated to The Fresno Arts Council, a local organization dedicated to enriching the community through the arts.

Event organizers say the items sold are produced by:

    • Farmers who subsist on the produce of their land
    • Women vulnerable to forced labor of human trafficking
    • People with disabilities marginalized in their societies
    • Parents who long to provide an education for their children

The fair trade event will be open from noon until 4 p.m. Tague Fair Trade is located between Tillys and European Wax.
