HS Football: Roosevelt reinvigorated under former Bulldog DL Ricky McCoy as HC

FRESNO, CA – Roosevelt football is feeling re-energized in 2024.

Now led by former Bulldog Defensive Lineman Ricky McCoy, the rough riders are ready to turn the page towards a new era after a first round playoff exit a season ago.

“I just hope that I’m that beacon of hope for them and let them know that I’m going to be here,” said McCoy. “So get used to how these things are going to run. Just keeping that a high standard and building a new foundation for the team has been the most it’s been the most challenging, but it’s been the most fun.”

For Coach McCoy, it starts with consistency within the coaching staff, as they inspire their group to revamp Roosevelt.

“We want to keep streak going. You know, like especially with Coach McCoy , we have a great feeling about him,” said Roosevelt Wide Receiver Adrian Flores. “He’s going to be a great coach. We have a lot of great coaches here, like Coach O’Neill, Coach Robe and all the other coaches, and they help us with a lot of stuff. They correct our stuff and all that.”
