Man hospitalized, 1 on the run following hit-and-run in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A man is hospitalized following a hit and run in Fresno, the Fresno Police Department said on Thursday night.

Police say they responded to the area of Cesar Chavez Boulevard and Peach Avenue around 10:30 p.m.

Officers say a bicyclist traveling eastbound on Cesar Chavez Boulevard, approaching Peach Avenue, was struck by a vehicle that turned in front of him. The vehicle then fled the area.

According to detectives, a concerned citizen followed the vehicle and provided its location to officers. The suspect’s vehicle was located, but not the suspect.

Investigators say the bicyclist was a 30-year-old black man, who had complained of pain to his hip. He was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.

This is an on-going investigation.
