FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A local non-profit that prides itself on serving Fresno County, children in foster care, the LGBTQ+ community, and those in need will be hosting a shoe drive and distribution on Saturday.

Rainbow of Light’s shoe drive and distribution will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tower District’s Splash Bar on 644 E Olive Ave.

The non-profit says the event is sponsored by Splash Fresno and the Tower District Rotary Club of Fresno. The group says the shoe drive and distribution was made possible by fundraising efforts and generous donations from the community.

In addition to contributing to more comfortable walking, Rainbow of Light officials say they also host several other programs to benefit the community, including:

    • Back to School Fundraisers: Donating backpacks filled with supplies to children in need.
    • Holiday Drives: Raising money and collecting donated items to keep the community warm during the winter season.
    • Holiday Meals: Providing plates of food to the homeless during Thanksgiving and Christmas, spreading joy during the holiday season.
