    IDENTIFIED: Man found dead in Visalia roadway

    VISALIA, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Two suspects have been arrested after a man was found lying dead in a roadway in Visalia Thursday morning, the Visalia Police Department announced.

    Thursday morning officers responded to the 1100 block of West Walnut Avenue where they say a man was found dead in the roadway.

    Violent Crimes Detectives responded to the scene and reported the man, identified as 35-year-old Jorge Zavala, died from injuries sustained from being stabbed.

    Investigators identified 36-year-old Ricardo Perez as a suspect, and on Friday, arrested him near Houston Avenue and Giddings Street in Visalia.

    Detectives say their investigation led them to identify 27-year-old Angel Gomez as a second suspect. A search warrant was served at an Exeter home in the 600 block of North Quince Street and he was arrested without incident.

    Police say both men have been booked under suspicion of homicide.
