    6 people displaced after electrical fire at Fresno home

    FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Six people have been displaced after a fire broke out in their home as they were getting ready to go to school Friday morning, according to the Fresno Fire Department.

    Officials say it happened on north 9th Street near Shields and Cedar avenues.

    According to firefighters, the occupants were getting ready to go to school, when they noticed smoke coming from their garage just before 8 a.m.

    Upon arrival, crews reported smoke and flames showing. Firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire, preventing further damage to the home.

    Officials say an electrical problem started the fire. No one was reported to be injured however, six people were displaced as a result.
