GOSHEN, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE) – A woman is dead, a man arrested, and four kids are now with family following a disturbance at their house, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office says.

Deputies were called to the 30700 block of Juniper Road by a child via 9-1-1 for a medical aid call Friday night just before 10:30 p.m.

Authorities say they arrived to find children ages 5, 13, 15, 17 in the house, uninjured, and their mother dead.

The child who called for help told investigators that a man and their mother were in a verbal disturbance when the mother directed the child to place the call to law enforcement.

Investigators say the man involved, 33-year-old Alfonso Fuentes-Montes, was also at the home when they got there. He was found to have non-life-threatening wounds and was treated at an area hospital before being booked into the Tulare County Jail on suspicion of felony murder.

The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office did not disclose exactly how the woman died.

Child Welfare Services also responded and placed the children with family.

Deputies say Fuentes-Montes has no bail and is expected to be in court on Tuesday afternoon.
