Dinuba man steals over $13K in tools from 2 Central Valley school districts, police say

SANGER, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A Dinuba man was arrested after allegedly stealing several thousands of dollars worth of tools from both Sanger and Kingsburg Unified School Districts, the Sanger Police Department said on Monday.

According to Sanger Police, Dinuba resident Joe Florez allegedly stole over $13,000 in tools from a property belonging to Sanger Unified School District on Aug. 19.

Officers say they were able to locate and arrest Florez after identifying him as a suspect in a similar theft involving Kingsburg Unified School District.

In the days following the Sanger burglary, police say they obtained a search warrant for Florez’s storage shed and apartment in the 900 block of West El Monte Way in Dinuba. Inside, officers found a large number of tools stolen from both Kingsburg and Sanger Unified School Districts.

Florez was arrested and transported to Fresno County Jail.

Police say several additional tools whose owners have not yet been identified were also recovered.
