FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The Coroner’s Office is asking the public for help in identifying a man who passed away earlier this month in Fresno.

The Fresno County Coroner’s Office says on May 30, a vehicle struck a pedestrian in the area of Blackstone and Griffith in Fresno. The man suffered major injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

There, officials say staff members were never able to speak with him and learn his name before he passed away on Aug. 20.

Now, the Coroner’s Office is asking for the public’s help, hoping that someone can identify him. They say one distinguishing feature was a faded tattoo on his upper left arm, which appears to be a rose.

The Coroner’s Office says identifying a victim and locating their immediate family members is a necessary process for them to release the body and allow the person to have a proper burial.

Anyone with information about this man is asked to contact the Coroner’s Unit at 559-600-3400 or email coroner@fresnosheriff.org.
