FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The woman on the run after the Fresno Police Department said she provided the gun used in a northeast Fresno deadly shooting on Saturday was arrested, according to police.

18-year-old Nevaeh Solomon was arrested early Tuesday morning around 2 a.m., officers say.

Fresno Police said what started as an agreement to fight turned deadly on Saturday when a woman was shot and killed in the parking lot of a Rite Aid in north Fresno. Detectives learned that 21-year-old Penelope Mehr allegedly was the one who pulled the trigger.

According to Lieutenant Paul Cervantes, 19-year-old Aaliyah Bonman and 21-year-old Penelope Mehr had prior history leading up to the shooting. However, the gun used in the attack was provided by Nevaeh Solomon, the woman arrested on Tuesday.

“That handgun is a handgun that was in possession of Solomon. That handgun was used to mortally wound Ms. Bondman in this event,” Lt. Cervantes said.

Police say Bonman and Mehr were at a rap concert and ended up at a hookah lounge, before agreeing to physically fight at a Rite-Aid parking lot at Cedar and Nees avenue in Fresno.

“They had prior incidents where they had some type of disturbances in the past. They mutually agreed at this location to fight.” Lt. Cervantes said.

At around 3 a.m., on Saturday, officers were called to the area of Cedar Avenue and Nees Avenue where they found Bonman with a single gunshot to her upper body. Bonman was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Officers say 18-year-old Nevaeh Solomon turned herself in to the Fresno Police Department on Tuesday.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Homicide Detective V. Miranda at 559-621-2452 or Detective J. Espinoza at 559-621-2415.

The sad thing is that you can not blame the environment it comes down to the choices that you make and the people that you run around with. I came from a home of abuse, alcohol, drugs and I chose to go a different path and also chose to accept Christ and to follow His precepts in the Bible and I was the only one in my family that did that for many years. Look at Ben Carson and many others who have pulled themselves up by their bootstraps and have followed the right path. we all know right and wrong even as a smile child and some people love evil over good.
