PORTERVILLE, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Three people were arrested in Porterville over the weekend after officers allegedly found them to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine, according to the Porterville Police Department.

Police say on Aug. 24 at 8:53 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of East Mill Avenue. During the stop, officers contacted the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, 39-year-old William McGuire.

According to police, McGuire was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was arrested. A search of his vehicle was conducted and officers found approximately one pound of suspected methamphetamine.

Police say detectives responded to the scene to assume the investigation and were authored a search warrant for McGuire’s residence in the 300 block of East Mill Avenue.

Upon arriving at McGuire’s residence, detectives contacted 71-year-old Barbara Boyland of Porterville and 51-year-old Allen Thomas of Porterville. Police say Thomas was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine. Boyland was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and had active warrants for her arrest.

During a search of the residence, detectives located brass knuckles, suspected methamphetamine, M-30 Fentanyl pills, digital scales, packaging, and drug paraphernalia.

McGuire was arrested for suspicion of transportation of a controlled substance for sales, possession of a controlled substance for sales, operating and maintaining a drug house, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of brass knuckles, and driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Police say McGuire was booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office South County Detention Facility and is being held on a $250,000 bail.

Thomas was arrested for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Thomas was also booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office South County Detention Facility.

Boyland was arrested for suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia and her outstanding warrants. Police say Boyland was issued a written agreement to appear in court at a later date.
