    Coffee Pot evacuation order issued as wildfire grows to over 4,000 acres

    TULARE COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – An evacuation order has been issued for communities in Tulare County threatened by the Coffee Pot Fire, currently burning inside Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park.

    As of Wednesday morning, the fire has burned over 4,550 acres and is 0% contained. It officially began on Aug. 3.

    The evacuation order issued by Sheriff Mike Boudreaux is for the area north of South Fork Drive, east of Skyline Drive, south of Skyline Drive and west of the National Park Boundary.

    The yellow area to the right of the map below shows the location of the Coffee Pot Fire. The red area in the center shows the area impacted by the evacuation order; the lighter yellow area to the left is under an evacuation warning.

    An investigation should be conducted on how this fire was allowed to become this large and burn for this length of time - heads need to roll!!
