Fresno BBQ joint named one of the best in nation

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A local business with humble beginnings in Fresno has been considered one of the top barbeque places in the nation by a Texas magazine.

The magazine “ Texas Monthly ” listed Fresno’s “MEGA Texas Barbeque” in the top 50 best barbeque joints in the United States.

To gather their data, the magazine reports over the course of 16 months, they visited 37 states and tried 149 Texas-style barbeque places to find the best outside of Texas.

The restaurant reportedly functioned out of a gas station in 2018 before eventually moving into its own space on the corner of Butler and Orange Avenues.

Their menu has everything from barbeque classics to unique food remixes, like their pork ribs covered in salsa verde and bacon-wrapped chicken lollipops.
