IDENTIFIED: Victim, suspect in fatal hit-and-run near Visalia

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The bicyclist killed in a hit-and-run near Visalia and the suspect connected with the case has been identified by the California Highway Patrol on Friday.

CHP says on Aug. 11, at about 9:11 a.m., a cyclist identified as Brent Allen was riding his bicycle northbound on the paved shoulder of Road 68, south of Highway 198 in Tulare County.

At the same time, investigators say the suspect, identified as Henry Robert Garcia, was driving a black, 2011 Chrysler 300, north of Road 68, approaching Allen from the rear. Garcia ended up sticking and killing Allen.

According to officers, Garcia fled the scene in the vehicle, northbound on Road 68, at a high rate of speed without rendering aid to the victim or contacting law enforcement.

Now, CHP is requesting the public’s help to locate the suspect and his vehicle in this case. They say the vehicle’s license plate number is 7EWN159, and Garcia is known to frequent the areas of Olive Avenue at Hanford Armona Road, and the areas of Jones Street at Hanford Armona Road in Hanford.
