Evacuation orders lifted near Chukchansi Casino following wildfire

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A wildfire had sparked evacuation orders and warnings for residents in Coarsegold— all of which have been lifted, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office announced Sunday.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, a residential fire ignited in the 46000 block of Road 417 near the Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino around 11:30 a.m.

Deputies say an Evacuation Order was initially issued for Genasys Zone MAD-E0881 . This area encompasses the area north of Longview Lane West, South of Chukchansi Road, Lucky Lane, East of Rolling Meadow Court, West of Quartz Mountain Road. That order had been reduced to an Evacuation Warning.

The Sheriff’s Office adds other evacuation orders were issued for Genasys zones MAD-E0711 and MAD-E0717 . This area encompasses Pickens Place near Big Sandy Drive, Picayune Creek Road, and Chukchansi Road at Road 417. This had been downgraded to an Evacuation Warning.

Around 12:15 p.m., deputies issued an Evacuation Warning for the areas east of the fire; Genasys Zone MAD-E0719, MAD-E0721, AND MAD-E0885 .

Madera Aware revealed there was no threat to the nearby Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino.

Since around 5 p.m. Sunday, all evacuation warnings and orders have been lifted for the previously affected areas.
