A man, identified by the coroner as 44-year-old Jack Borders of Yokuts Valley, was driving his truck northbound on Elwood Road when for unknown reasons, he veered to the right dirt shoulder before crashing.

CHP says the two men in the truck both exited before they were transported to a local hospital.

Borders was airlifted before he was pronounced dead whereas his passenger was transported via ground with moderate injuries.

Detectives are actively working to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
