FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The man who died after a pickup truck collided with the back of his farming tractor on Monday night has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.

The Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 72-year-old Alionso Jimenez Perez of Selma.

According to the California Highway Patrol, around 8:15 p.m. on Monday, Perez was driving a farm tractor eastbound on Floral Avenue toward Temperance Avenue in Fresno County. A Toyota Tacoma was approaching from behind but failed to see the tractor in a sufficient amount of time.

CHP says the Toyota collided with the farm tractor, ejecting Perez onto the dirt shoulder, and inflicting major injuries. Perez was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
