1 dead, juvenile on run after stabbing in Merced, police say

MERCED, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A person is dead and police are searching for a juvenile after a Tuesday night stabbing in Merced, according to the Merced Police Department.

Police say around 8:30 p.m. officers responded to the 3900 block of Alviso Drive for a report of a stabbing.

Investigators say officers located a victim who was suffering from several puncture wounds to his upper torso. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

During the investigation, police say a witness identified a juvenile suspect in the assault. The juvenile had been in an altercation with the victim while the victim was sitting in his vehicle.

Detectives say they are actively looking for the juvenile who is wanted in connection with this homicide investigation.
