VISALIA, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A 19-year-old has been arrested for allegedly downloading obscene photos of minors in Visalia, the city’s police department said on Thursday.

Police say on July 9 they received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about an individual downloading photos of minors described by officers as obscene. According to police, detectives from the Youth Services Unit quickly launched an investigation and traced the tip to a residence in Visalia.

Police say 19-year-old Dario Gonzalez was identified as the individual responsible for downloading and viewing the material. On Sept. 5, officers served a search warrant at a home in the 4100 block of West Nellis Avenue in connection with the investigation.

The police department says Gonzalez was arrested and booked into the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility for suspicion of possession of obscene images of minors.
