Fresno fight leads to deadly crash into tree, police say

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A man died after he crashed a Honda Accord into a tree after a fight at a bar in Fresno Friday morning, according to the Fresno Police Department.

Police say around 1 a.m. officers responded to a fight at a place called “The Other Bar” near Sierra and Blackstone avenues.

Investigators say when officers arrived, they learned a fight had broken out and a man had pulled out a gun and left the scene speeding away in a Honda Accord.

While leaving the scene,  he was followed by a police helicopter until he crashed into a tree near Sierra and Forkner avenues.

When police got to the crash, they said the man was dead.

Officers say a handgun and ammunition were located inside the vehicle. The California Highway Patrol has taken over the investigation.
