VISALIA, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Two teenagers were arrested following a pursuit of a stolen vehicle that ended in a collision in Visalia, according to the Visalia Police Department.

Visalia detectives say just before 9:30 a.m. on Friday, the Tulare County Regional Auto Theft Taskforce spotted a stolen vehicle near Conyer Street and Walnut Avenue.

Officers say when they attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled westbound toward Mooney Boulevard and tried to enter the Ross parking lot.

The vehicle then lost control and collided with an unoccupied parked car in the parking lot, according to officials.

Officers say both occupants got out of the stolen vehicle and fled on foot. A perimeter was set up, leading to the arrest of both suspects.

According to officials, the 17-year-old driver has been arrested multiple times and is currently
on probation for a previous stolen vehicle offense. The 17-year-old now might face new charges including theft of a vehicle, possession of stolen property, evading police, hit and run, probation violation, and resisting arrest.

Police say the passenger of the stolen vehicle was a 13-year-old. The teen was booked under suspicion of possession of stolen property and resisting arrest.
