Teen arrested for stabbing and killing another in Merced, police say

MERCED, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A 17-year-old has been arrested after allegedly stabbing and killing a person after an argument on Tuesday, the Merced Police Department said.

According to the Merced Police Department, officers responded to the 3900 block of Alviso Dr. in Merced on Tuesday around 8:30 p.m. after receiving report of a stabbing .

Once on scene, officers say they located the victim suffering from multiple stabbing wounds to the left side of his upper torso. The victim was transported to a local hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Police say witnesses identified a 17-year-old as the suspect. After a follow-up investigation, detectives were able to contact the teenager and negotiate a surrender. On Friday, the suspect surrendered to Merced Police and was booked into the juvenile hall.
