CLOVIS, CA – Golden Eagle Football has seen it’s fair share of athletes, but few compare to the two-way dynamic playmaking Wide Receiver JD Darrington.

“He wakes up and has a smile on his face when he shows up to work,” said Clovis West Football head coach Eric Brown. “He’s also really intelligent football player. I think he’s that’s probably the biggest growth. He’s made that and finally really committed to work out aspect of it. That usually happens between the Junior and Senior year where ‘I got to be better in the weight room to be better on the field and protect my body that way.’ “

Playing both Wide Receiver and Cornerback for the Golden Eagles, Darrington posted over 500 yards, 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in just his Junior season. Showing his versatility and selflessness as a teammate.

“It’s not really about just the position or ‘I want catches’ because I really love winning and especially the guys that I’m playing with,” said Darrington. “So it’s like anything to win and I really love being on both sides of the ball. I love being dominant at every position. So it’s really just really I love playing football.”

This summer, Darrington announced his commitment to the hometown Fresno State Bulldogs. Keeping this dynamic two-way star in the Central Valley excited to start making plays on Saturdays in front of the red wave.

“I think it was really family, you know, growing up. my family’s always been Bulldog fans,” said Darrington. “When I really got the offer, it was like unreal. So it was really a easy choice and that’s really it.”
