TULARE COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Cooler weather forecast for the Central Valley is expected to help crews who are working to control the Coffee Pot Fire burning near Three Rivers in Tulare County.

As of Monday morning, the fire was reported at 13,440 acres and 31% contained, up 4% from the containment numbers released on Sunday.

According to federal officials, air operations are playing a key part in ensuring that the fire remains under control – both by dropping retardant to put out the flames and by dropping equipment for crews on the ground. The plan on Monday is to continue working the lines to ultimately increase containment.

Crews working the fire are expected to benefit from cooler temperatures expected this week and smoke conditions are expected to improve as well. However, the communities of Three Rivers, Hammond, and Giant Forest continue to see smoke impacts, according to federal officials, with air quality described as being in the moderate range.

On Monday, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office announced the lifting of various evacuation orders, downgrading them to warnings, as well as the lifting of some warnings as well.

Evacuation orders remain for Genasys zones TLC-E094-C, TLC-E094-E, TLC-E094-D, and TLC-E094-B.

Evacuation warnings remain in place for zones TLC-E093-A, TLC-E093-B, TLC-E095, and TLC-E128-A.
