IDENTIFIED: Man shot in vehicle in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The man who was found with a gunshot wound to his head Saturday afternoon has been identified by the Fresno Police Department.

Police say around 2:30 p.m. Saturday they responded to the 2200 block of South Cherry Avenue for reports of two gunshot victims in a vehicle.

Responding officers reported a man, identified as 22-year-old Alfonso Salgado, lying in the roadway with a gunshot wound. Life-saving efforts were performed but Salgado was eventually pronounced deceased.

A second victim, described as an 18-year-old, was transported to a local hospital to undergo treatment for his gunshot wound. Investigators report he was later released that evening.

Police have not released any suspect information.
