Got big buns? This Fresno restaurant wants to collaborate to make the Central Valley’s ‘largest chicken sandwich’

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Can you make big buns? A family-owned franchise restaurant in Fresno is actively looking for a local vendor who can supply gigantic buns.

The Red Chickz is a new business in Fresno that sells Nashville Hot Chicken owned by Keerat Riar and his father. And while this may be one of many hot chicken shops, Riar claims to have the crunchiest chicken in the Central Valley.

“I’m not really allowed to disclose what our secret recipe is behind making it as crunchy and crispy as it is, but the consistency of the chicken, the texture of the chicken it’s not overly battered,” Riar said. “It just has that perfect amount of crunch to it.”

Riar says the menu carries a large array of types of chicken, including vegetarian options.

Having just opened a month ago in August, the business is already looking for new and exciting ways to serve chicken.

Tuesday morning, Riar and YourCentralValley’s Viviana Yvonne put together what could be the valley’s largest chicken sandwich. He says the difficult part was finding someone who could make a giant bun.

“I drove all the way to Los Angeles [Monday] to pick up this bun. They were the only ones who could get this order done for me. I called everyone in the Central Valley. No one wanted to touch it, so I’m really hoping that changes,” Riar said.

Riar hopes to find someone local who can supply the gigantic buns so that he can add the sandwich to the menu. He says as soon as that happens, the public can enjoy the giant chicken sandwich for themselves.

“The minute a bakery, a local bakery hits us up and says ‘hey we can do it’, it’ll be available the next day,” he said.
