SELMA, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The City of Selma’s SPARCS department is hosting its first-ever 5K Color Run this fall.

During the Nov. 9 marathon, participants will be doused at color stations spread out throughout the 3.1-mile course. According to organizers, the colorful powder is made of a biodegradable, non-toxic material that is easy to wash off.

The run starts at 8 a.m. at the Selma Art Center on 1935 High St. After the run’s noon conclusion, participants are welcome to stop by the Selma Arts Center patio for a crafting opportunity to commemorate their experience.

The non-competitive event is open to all ages. Registration is $32.8 and includes admission, a T-shirt, sunglasses, and a medal. Those interested in attending can register online until Oct. 18 or until spots are filled.
