    Yosemite to get a facelift, how you can help

    YOSEMITE, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – In an ongoing tradition lasting about 20 years, a local corporation invites the public to join the effort in preserving Yosemite National Park.

    The Yosemite Climbing Association (YCA) launched what they call “The Yosemite Facelift” in 2004, which is an annual collaboration between YCA, Yosemite National Park, and various sponsors that gathers volunteers to clean up Yosemite.

    Park officials say in its 21-year, the clean-up event has evolved also to include special talks and panel discussions.

    From Sept. 25 to 29, officials say volunteers will collaboratively work to clean up Yosemite and further preserve the environment.

    Park rangers add anyone looking for an extra incentive to give back, Sept. 28 marks National Public Lands Day . To participate simply:

    Park officials also say that while Saturday is a fee-free day, the public will still need a $2 reservation to drive into or through the park between 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.
