FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – California’s Governor Gavin Newsom arrived in Fresno on Tuesday to sign bills designed to boost affordable housing for California farmworkers.

Newsom spoke at around 3 p.m., signing the bills and providing comments on affordable housing for farmworkers – and protecting and supporting those workers across the state.

According to the governor’s office, the bills expanded California’s housing efforts for farmworkers, improving access to affordable housing for agricultural workers and making it easier to build farmworker housing.

The bills signed were AB 2240 (Arambula) and AB 3035 (Pellerin).
