    Low-cost rabies clinic offered in Mariposa County after bats found with virus, officials say

    MARIPOSA COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – There will be a low-cost rabies clinic in Mariposa County after several bats were found to have the rabies virus in the county, according to the county’s animal control.

    According to the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Animal Control, several bats found in public places of the county were found to have the rabies virus. Due to this, officials are offering residents to take advantage of the low-cost rabies vaccine clinic.

    The clinic will only accept cash. Officials ask for dogs to be on leashes and cats to be in carriers at all times. Officials say to bring prior vaccination information or prior or current licensing information.

    Officials say the clinic will be on Friday, Oct. 18 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Midpines County Park at 6364 Highway 140 in Midpines. For more information, click here .
