FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A Central Valley cookie store is permanently closing its Fresno location, but not before throwing a grand closing commemoration.

The Crave Cookie location at Marketplace at El Paseo off of Herndon Avenue and Highway 99 will be closing that location after three years of operations there. The business made that announcement on Tuesday – adding that the Clovis location will be staying open.

Crave Cookie Manager Justin Tauai revealed that “lease disagreements” were the reason for the Fresno store’s closing, but he will be leaving the location with great memories of its many loyal and happy customers.

“The experience has been great here at the Fresno location as well as Clovis,” Tauai said. “This location is first of its kind it had its own drive-through.”

Customers like Ryan Bettencourt say the convenience of the drive-through and the proximity to so many Fresno businesses and residences made the Fresno location a big part of the community, and it will be missed.

“I prefer Crave,” Bettencourt said. “When they opened we were excited because I just live down the street.”

Bettencourt says he would often bring the cookies home and to work, his family and employees will both miss having Crave nearby.

Tauai says this closure is not the end of the business. In fact, to celebrate the closure of the Fresno location they will be holding a “grand closing” ceremony on Friday, Sept. 27, and Saturday, Sept. 28.

From 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., patrons are invited to the Fresno location for merch giveaways, exclusive cookie flavors, and exclusive drinks.

“To thank you for all the support we’ve received from the community,” said Tauai.

When YourCentralValley.com asked Bettencourt if he would make it to the grand goodbye, he said even though he has plans this weekend he’ll do his best to make it, urging everyone to come by “show them that they’re going to be missed.”

that's the third store that has left El Paso shopping center due to a lease disagreement. That's too bad.
