FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A central Fresno nonprofit was damaged by a fire early Thursday morning, according to the Fresno Fire Department.

Fire crews responded to the nonprofit “Danger Aware” around 1 a.m. at 2503 N Fresno Street near Clinton Avenue and Fresno Street.

Investigators say the fire started at the exterior of the building and spread into the interior. The building consists of several units. Officials say one of the units sustained heavy fire damage while the others had interior smoke damage.

“Danger Aware” is a public charity for the prevention of abuse. Fire investigators are on the scene trying to determine what caused the fire.
