VISALIA, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – An Uber driver was assaulted and robbed early Sunday morning, Visalia Police say.

It was then, police say, that two men in a dark-colored SUV pulled up beside him.

The man told police that one of the suspects got out of their SUV, displayed a handgun, and assaulted him before taking some of his things. The vehicle then fled the area, traveling north on Highland.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.

No further suspect description or information has been provided.

Visalia police ask anyone with information on this case to please contact them at 559-734-8117.
