FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) — The driver of a Toyota Tundra died on Sunday after CHP says he did not stop at a stop sign and crashed into another vehicle in Fresno County.

The three in the other vehicle, a mother and her two children, were taken to the hospital following that crash.

The two-vehicle crash took place on Goldenrod Avenue and Jensen Avenue outside Kerman on Sunday morning . The CHP describes the intersection as dangerous and officers say drivers need to be careful.

“They need to come to a complete stop. They need to check left, right, left, make sure that is clear from traffic. And they’re not going to be turning out in front of vehicles when they make their turns. Just be cognizant of their surroundings and look out for the stop signs,” Davis said.

The CHP says the man driving the white Toyota Tundra drove into the side of another vehicle, which had a mother and her two infant children inside. Officers say they were between one and two years old.

The man who died has not been officially identified, but CHP described him as Hispanic between 30 and 40 years old.

“We have one confirmed fatality that was in the vehicle that we believe had run the stop sign and the other vehicle. We have three parties that were injured that were all transported prior to our arrival,” CHP Officer Steven Davis said.

Officers say no alcohol was involved. The crash is still under investigation.
