KINGS COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Two Bakersfield men were arrested after allegedly stealing a quad and a trailer in a rural area of Kings County, the Kings County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office says their Rural Crimes detectives, along with a Kings County District Attorney’s Office investigator assigned to the Rural Crimes Unit, responded to the theft of a quad and trailer in progress in the 17000 block of S. 10 Ave., in Kings County on Sept. 27 around 12:40 p.m.

According to deputies, the quad and trailer were equipped with tracking devices, allowing detectives to monitor the movements of the stolen equipment. Detectives tracked the equipment down to the area of N. West Street and W. Cartmill Avenue in Tulare County.

The Sheriff’s Office says they were able to get behind the suspect vehicle that was towing the stolen equipment, which was driving in an unsafe manner. Although a traffic stop was conducted, the vehicle failed to yield, leading to a pursuit.

Detectives say the pursuit ended when the vehicle came to a stop in the area of Highway 99 and West Cartmill Avenue.

The Sheriff’s Office says the driver, identified as Isaac Ramos and his passenger, Alexander Gamez, both of Bakersfield were taken into custody as a result and booked into the Kings County Jail under suspicion of vehicle theft, conspiracy to commit a crime and possession of stolen property.
