COARSEGOLD, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A fifth suspect in a commercial burglary in Madera, who deputies say was the “organizer of the burglary operation,” was arrested on Thursday, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies say they arrested four men on the morning of Sept. 29 following their involvement in a commercial burglary. The group was accused of stealing multiple bicycles totaling over $20,000 from Pedal Forward Bikes and Adventure Shop in Madera County.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, all stolen bicycles were located inside the white van driven by the four suspects, identified as Isaac Antonio Alvarez, Earvwin Mccullar, Manuel Tejeda, and Orlan Doser, all from Fresno. The bicycles were then recovered and returned to the business owner.

However, on Monday, the Sheriff’s Office said a fifth suspect, a man called Eddie, was identified as “the organizer of the burglary operation” during the initial investigation. Deputies say he was observed on video driving a red Lincoln MKX and leading the white van into and out of Oakhurst.

The Madera Special Enforcement Team (MADSET) took over the investigation and linked Edward Malagon of Fresno to a red Lincoln MKX matching the vehicle seen in surveillance footage.

The Sheriff’s Office says the Madera Narcotics Enforcement Team (MADNET) located the suspect vehicle parked in the driveway of a home associated with Malagon in the 5400 block of E. Lane Ave., in Fresno on Oct. 3. Around 1 p.m., detectives took Malagon into custody.

“I commend the diligent efforts of our team to thoroughly investigate this case and apprehend all suspects involved,” said Sheriff Tyson Pogue. “Let this be an unmistakable reminder to all that we take a strong stand against criminal activity in Madera County.”

Deputies say Malagon was booked into the Madera County Jail on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy.
