PORTERVILLE, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Three people were arrested after being found with concealed and unregistered firearms during a traffic stop, the Porterville Police Department said.

Officers say they conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle at the 1500 block of West Olive Avenue on Saturday around 9 p.m. The reason for the stop was due to equipment violations.

Police say they contacted the driver, 20-year-old Matthew Eudave, and his passengers, Jasper Berumen, 25, and Sarah Peyron 20. All of them were from Porterville.

According to investigators, it was determined that Eudave was operating the vehicle on a suspended driver’s license. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located a loaded 9-millimeter pistol that was found concealed within the passenger compartment. The pistol was later determined to be unregistered.

The Porterville Police Department says Eudave, Berumen, and Peyron were arrested and booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office South County Detention Facility on suspicion of possession of a loaded and concealed firearm and possession of an unregistered firearm. Eudave was also accused of driving with a suspended license.

Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to contact the Porterville Police Department at 559-782-7400.
