MADERA COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Due to a Public Safety Power Shutoff, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday some areas in Madera County will be left without power starting on Friday.

According to the sheriff’s office, PG&E notified the Madera County Office of Emergency Services of the event, which is expected to affect the areas of Central Camp, The Pines, Wishon, Bass Lake Annex, North Fork, Cascadel Woods, O’Neals and Sugar Pine.

Sheriff’s officials say power is expected to be de-energized on Friday, Oct. 18, around 4 a.m. Restoration is estimated to occur by Saturday, Oct. 19. The Sheriff’s Office says there will be extra staff to patrol the affected areas to ensure the safety and security of all homes and businesses impacted by the outage.

Community Resource Center sites will be available at the North Fork Elementary and Oakhurst Community Center. They will be open to the public from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. beginning Friday until power is restored.

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office recommends residents in the affected areas start preparing as soon as possible for this event. For more information on how to prepare, click here. To check the latest updates, visit the PG&E Outage Center webpage.
