TULARE COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Tulare County Probation Department announced Wednesday that it has received a grant of $147,217 from the California Office of Traffic Safety.

The grant is for an intensive probation supervision program for high-risk individuals with multiple DUI convictions.

“This grant funding will allow us to address the complex issues surrounding individuals who have multiple DUIs by providing vital resources and guidance to break the cycle of alcohol-related offenses,” Tulare County Probation Department Chief Probation Officer Kelly Vernon said.

Funding will go toward check-ins with probationers to ensure they follow court-ordered terms of their probation.

The grant program runs through September 2025.
