IDENTIFIED: Body recovered from Kings River in Reedley

REEDLEY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The man recovered after drowning in the Kings River on Monday has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office on Wednesday.

The Coroner’s Office identified the man as 44-year-old Jesse Garcia.

Deputies say they received a call on Monday at noon from a person near the Kings River, southeast of the intersection of Nebraska and Macdonough avenues in Reedley.

Investigators report the caller advised Garcia was partially submerged in water lying on a sandbar and motionless. Deputies and emergency responders worked together to remove Garcia from the river around 12:40 p.m. when he was determined to be deceased.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, there was nothing discovered to be suspicious about the man’s death.
