An Erie author who writes books about a local attraction spoke to students at Corry Area Intermediate School today.

David Gorman signed copies of the latest installment of his “Waldameer Mystery Files” series. It’s the sixth book Gorman has written about kids solving mysteries at the amusement park.

He said he writes the books for children ages 8-12 and he hopes his visit inspires students to read.

“I studied creative writing in college, Waldameer is close to my heart, my family owns the park,” said Gorman. “Waldameer is very special to me and I’ve always wanted to write books. I love to read, so I decided to combine two passions of mine into one thing, so that’s what I write about, Waldameer.”

“I think it’s kind of cool I was talking to an author, I want to see what these books have to store,” said William Hulings, a student at Corry Area Intermediate School.

Gorman’s visit was part of Corry Area School District’s Spring Family Involvement Day.
